The Polyhedron (Многогранник) is a joint project of the Stamatin architects and the Kain family. It is said to be a miracle—that it breaks the established laws of the Earth and physics. The Utopians, which include Dankovsky, believe it such a valuable and unique creation that they are ready to sacrifice everything for the sake of its preservation.

Dankovsky remembers finding something new to fight for in the Town-on-Gorkhon after finding the town itself to be a lost cause, but what is it...? What was he fighting for all those days? He simply cannot remember, and it's driving him mad.

An authoritative politician and a prominent figure in business circles, Simon was a natural mediator between the family affairs of the Kains and the Town. His name served as a guarantee to society of due respect and trust in the Kains. Simon was a representative of the Kains in the construction of the Polyhedron: on behalf of his family he oversaw the development of the architectural ensemble. Simon's death was not only a terrible blow to Georgiy, it also carried great symbolic meaning, as his name had been the banner of a new city and a new order.
